Man Fatally Struck By Train In North Jersey: NJ Transit

A man was killed after he was struck by an NJ Transit train near Murray Hill Station in New Providence early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, authorities said.

At 5:05 a.m., a Gladstone Branch train en route to Hoboken, fatally struck an adult male pedestrian, NJ Transit officials said. There were no injuries to the people on board the train, NJ Transit said.

Gladstone Branch service is currently suspended in both directions between Murray Hill and Summit, NJ Transit said. Rail tickets and passes are being cross honored by private carrier buses, NJ Transit said. 

New Jersey Transit police are on scene and leading the investigation, officials said.
